I offer a number of management consulting services, but they can be all be summarised as strategic planning for transformative change.
At this stage of my career, Clients tend to engage me for large transformative change initiatives such as Digital Transformation. I use PROSCI methodologies and augment them with network relationship analysis and PMP based Program Management approaches.
I have worked in high technology and IT since 1989 and have experience of development, support, operations, architecture, leadership, governance, outsourcing and strategy. Over my career I've done just about every job in a typical IT department.
I am certified in IT Governance by ISACA and much of my work includes advising Client's on IT governance structures or the risks associated with different strategic approaches, especially in the areas of digital transformation.
Experience businesses are very different from Product or Service businesses and require very different thinking. I am Pine & Gilmore's Certified Experience Economy Expert #292 and trained to guide your team through a unique strategic thinking expedition.
My most satisfying career moments have been helping people to develop and apply their talents and skills, and then watching their careers progress and seeing their successes as they achieve their goals.
I've worked in many different industry verticals and at all company levels for the smallest local business to the largest multi-nationals. Over my career I have worked throughout Europe and North America and also in the Middle East, India and Australia.
No-one is really quite sure what might be wrong, they just know it isn't right. I begin by gathering data - interviews, reports, research, experience - just gather the data. This is the first stage in taming chaos.
With the data gathered, the analysis can begin. Establishing relationships between seemingly unconnected data points allows us to start understanding the nature of the current state within an organisation. Gaining agreement across your stakeholders on the current state is critical as you cannot move forward if you cannot agree where you are. In the journey from A to B, the hard part is not how to get to B, it is where is A?
Once relationships are established, patterns and trends become clearer and can be analysed to understand root causes. This leads us into facilitated workshops which are designed to provoke critical thinking about the key trends being faced and the actions that could be taken to address them.
The knowledge gained through considering and discussing the future state vision and options allows us to compartmentalise the work into a cohesive plan and establish strategic pillars to organise the plan into central and peripheral work activities or key result areas
The plan can be finalised, critical paths established, cost and resources detailed and key risks identified for mitigation or acceptance. The entire set of outputs is documented in a highly visual report that provides clarity on how to achieve the future state or vision for the organisation. Our journey is complete.
